The Girlchoir ended the year with its biggest concert yet on May 18th with a performance at the Church of the Holy Trinity in Rittenhouse Square. 250 girls from Camden and Philadelphia performed for a sold-out crowd of families, community partners, and distinguished guests. The girls were joined onstage by Broadway performer Nicholas Rodriguez courtesy of Broadway Dreams. SCG honored Philadelphia Councilwoman Blondell Reynolds Brown with the “Raise Your Voice Award” in recognition of her commitment to education, arts, and children. The Girlchoir also acknowledged the generous support of Townsend Press with the “Community Partner of the Year Award,” and Harriet Young with the “Volunteer of the Year Award.”
Simon PR showcased the passion of the Sister Cities Girlchoir by launching a pro bono media relations campaign to share our story. They significantly raised the profile of the event with advance placements and feature stories from The Daily News and Ukee Washington of CBS-3 Philadelphia. Click here for more from the SCG blog.
