Music is the best tool we know for uniting communities. Here at SCG we believe that connecting children to the power of their unified voices is the best way to reach out to others as well. Our CPS choir got to do just that for residents of Abigail House in Camden on December 7th.
CPS is a choir made up of students from 5 Catholic school (Catholic Partnership Schools) in Camden and this is our 2nd year working with this incredible group of 5th-8th grade singers. Their musicianship and voices are growing with each rehearsal. At Abigail House we were able to do a first run of our Winter Concert music; including “Best Day of My Life” by American Authors and “African Noel” to bring a bit of holiday spirit.
Residents were thrilled to see this group of 40+ singers show up, sing, smile and bow. They brought life and cheer to the house. And, the students; some of whom had never performed before, went from nervous to exhilarated by the end of our concert.
